The Building & Construction Industry Forum

Established by Eildon Housing Association in 2003, BCIF assists the construction industry across the South of Scotland to become more effective and efficient thus enabling it to make a major contribution to the increased investment anticipated in the regeneration of local communities.

The BCIF has had funding from Scottish Enterprise's Developing Construction over the last three years and is now supported by the South of Scotland Business Solutions project.

The function of the BCIF is to promote the construction industry, provide links with other agencies, and to facilitate a series of events, workshops and seminars to:

• Raise awareness and provide information and practical advice to the construction industry to enable it to compete in a changing environment
• Assist the local construction industry to become more effective in the execution of its business
• Allow clients of the future to communicate and articulate their requirements and expectations
• Promote the benefits of training and development, including the facilitation of training.
• Facilitation of a construction training group for the Scottish Borders
• Provide a common link and work in partnership with other organisations that will address issues such as employment, training and skills shortages.
• Promote the construction industry as an employer of the future.
• Assist in the economic, social and environmental development of the Scottish Biorders and the communities within.
• Develop best practice models for the benefit of the construction industry.
