Fall Proves Fatal On City Fit-out Job

A 45 year old worker fell to his death while working on an office refurbishment project in central London.

The unnamed man, who worked for specialist contractor Swift Horsman, was found at the bottom of a lift shaft last week.

He was working on a £7.1 million project to refurbishment the St Catherine's House office block in the Holborn area of the capital.

The main contractor is StructureTone, working for developer Tishman Speyer.

A StructureTone spokeswoman saidl: "Everyone at StructureTone extends their deepest sympathies to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased."

The Health and Safety Executive has begun a full investigation
